Croydon, London
A city in all but name, Croydon is the UK's 6th largest commercial centre, and would be the UK’s 7th largest city if it were not a London borough, of which it is the largest. It is home to several Government offices, and more than 20 “blue chip” companies are based there. Croydon is currently experiencing one of the most dynamic regeneration and growth periods ever seen in the UK. A massive £3.5 billion has been committed for projects throughout the borough, and the town centre will be transformed with new squares, piazza’s, and green public spaces. The town already has renowned shopping at West End standards with the Whitgift Shopping Centre, one of the biggest in Europe, plus Centrale and Park Place, which will be improved even further with the planned expansion.
